Dead Tree Spirit
I worked to establish
My roots in the Earth
I strengthened and branched out
I even gave birth
I hatched out a countless
Number of birds
I was highway and subway
I shaded and lured
I held you in safety
I kept them at bay
I weathered the storms here
I suffered and swayed
My body is rigid
No movement no sway
I still will protect you
I'll show you the way
My silhouette at night
Will witness your breathe
I still will watch o'er you
Even in death.
