Poem, The Audience Tires, 1-12-12

Unwitting villains unwitting pawns
offered the outfits of roles to try on
in an attempt to outwit our foes
in an attempt to write some new prose
in an attempt to get closure to wounds
in an attempt to be more blind to pain
in an attempt to be adored and vain

Now comes the curtain
the drama is wrote
the audience tires of
the claws and the moat
keeps us away from the kingdom we seek
keeps us from directly feeling the light
keeps us from living and appearing right
keeps us all failing at the same old things as
our ancestors failed at, knowledge has died
each left in pain and fearing the light
centuries of darkness obstructed from flight.
