Proof of Rightness

The proof of hope
In my front yard
A sparrow lit
Upon the ground

He holds a feather
In his beak
From a hawk's kill
Previous week

Of a pigeon I regret
I've swept the remnants
Out of sight
Never expecting hope just might

Startle me in sweetness dear
A natural outcome sweeping fear
Irradiating dread and woe
Proof of rightness now behold*
