Poem, The Farmer's Legacy 3-25-12

My father is as he once was
Patient, waiting, nonchalant
Shaking off quick emotions
Fading to enduring modes of
Routine and pragmatic ways
Efficient and responsible
Never ever wanting out
Nowhere to go nor trade for clout
Satisfied with how things were
Custodian of what will blur
As soon as Earth reclaims him to
The soil and simpleness at hand
Along with stability became his brand.
