The Secret Side of Life, poem, Eve Featherstone

If all the veils were lifted
If all your thoughts were bare
If all your sexual fantasies
Were all OK to share

If motives were all light filled
If lust was common sought
If situations obvious
Were given and not bought

Would you still have all your friendships
Would you still uphold the right
To judge and fear the dark side
Would you argue and still fight

Would your family still adore you
Would you still respect them too
Or are we all more comforted
That darkness hides our views
