Poem, Giving Back Her Rib, 12-4-11

Imitating light as if it's early in the morn
rising over hills and darkness shining spotlight on
gazing over circumstance with disconnected grace
pulsing through the veins as if it needs her now awake
circling through the levels of her consciousness and veils
sampling plugs of every day to surmise routine ails
phantom of her past and present greatness from afar
taking laurels for itself and damning all the hells
of self imposed and logical, means by which she lives
boring to the gods and realms of glorious beings glib
waiting for dear Eve to think of giving back her rib.

--EVE Featherstone
